Oasis Agriculture Meeting (Aug 5)

Oasis Agriculture Meeting (Aug 5)

An online meeting was held with the participation of both the Egyptian and Japanese teams. The meeting focused on updates and discussions related to agricultural experiments and field management at New Valley University.

The team reviewed the progress of tree and crop planting and maintenance, including issues related to irrigation, soil analysis, and the responsibilities of specialized companies for tasks such as fencing and tree planting. They also examined the results of maize and sorghum experiments under saline and non-saline conditions, highlighting differences in plant growth and yield, and emphasizing the need for specific soil and plant measurements.

Mr. Omar Fathy presented findings on plant growth attributes and chlorophyll content. Dr. Ahmed Aziz and Dr. Donghe Xu discussed the necessity and scope of soil and plant analyses for scientific publication, agreeing to focus chemical analyses on sodium, potassium, electrical conductivity, and soil pH rather than conducting a full chemical analysis on all samples.

Updates were also shared regarding farm visits and the performance of soybean plants.
