Agenda: Report on winter crops at the New Valley University farm and future research plans
- The Japanese side reported on the planned field visits at the end of January and midFebruary.
- The Egyptian side reported that, regarding winter crops, three varieties of wheat, three varieties of barley, and quinoa were sown in early December. Two types of modern irrigation and two types of fertilizers are currently under experimentation. In response, the Japanese side inquired about experiments using traditional irrigation and saline soils; it was decided to pursue improvements for the summer crops. The Japanese side also requested the farm map, periodic photographs, and a shared future schedule. Both sides confirmed the importance of strengthening information sharing.
- Concerning future research plans, the Egyptian side will compile and share—at an early stage—the progress of experimental cultivation and studies on water purification and reuse.
- The next online meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 30, at 17:00 Japan time / 10:00 Egypt time.
