Meetings with Farmers from 22nd to 30th July – Dakhla Survey Report (July 2026)

Meetings with Farmers

Meetings were held in the four target villages (Rashda, Mushia, Qalamun, Budkhulu), as well as in Hendaw and newly in Izbat Qasr. The meetings took two forms: seminar-style sessions at the village offices open to the public, and focus group discussions organized at the level of individual wells. On this occasion, however, coordination did not go smoothly, and the third meeting was held only once in the seminar‑style session, while the second meeting was held at three locations and the first meeting at three locations.

July 22, 10:00 – Rashda Local Unit (village office): This was the third seminar‑style meeting, with many women working at the village office also participating. The discussion focused on water usage and irrigation methods.

July 23, 18:00 – Bir3 Farmers in Rashda: Following the session in May, this was the second focus group organized at the level of individual wells. Participants raised concerns about water shortages, noting that a single government well had been divided into two units across the road—one serving the north side with electricity and the other serving the south side with solar power—resulting in unequal access to usage time.
