Dr. Erina Iwasaki and Dr. Naoko Fukami from Sophia University; Dr. Adel Shalaby from NARSS; Ms. Sachiko Kano; and Ms. Hajar Tareq who served as a local survey assistant visited Dakhla Oasis, specifically Rashda, Mushia, Qalamun, and Budkhulu villages to collect basic information and historical backgrounds of the villages.
On February 3, they visited New Valley University and met with Vice Presidents Dr. Ragab Kamel and Dr. Ahmed Harbawy, Dr. Hatem Hamdoun and Dr. Ahmed Azizeldin Abubakr from Faculty of Agriculture,
They also visited Vice Governor Dr. Hanan Magdy together with Deputy Chief Representative Mr. Atsushi Yamamoto, Ms. Satoko Kimura, and Mr. Yutaro Suzuki from the JICA Cairo Office.
The team visited the Dakhla District (markaz) Chief, as well as village chiefs (Chiefs of Local Units) and Umda in Rashda, Mushia, Qalamun, and Budkhulu. They collected basic information and historical information of the villages. and explained about the project.
