Mr. Nodasaka reported the outcomes of his visit to NARSS:
- The development of “Mr. OASIS” for farmers consists of two components:
(1) understanding their challenges, and
(2) addressing those challenges.
The focus for 2026 will be exclusively on (1). The plan is to collect and input various forms of information—text, audio, and images. These may include farmers’ work notes or diaries, photographs documenting crop growth and irrigation practices, and materials from the Oasis Society Group’s focus group activities. - During the meetings at NARSS in February, the roles of all participants were clarified. A field visit with young researchers from NARSS is planned for September.
- One of the key issues moving forward is how to integrate the ongoing photo‐collection platform currently under development with the system.
- The next meeting will be held on March 25 at 13:00 Egypt time / 20:00 Japan time.
