Oasis Agriculture Meeting (July 15)

Oasis Agriculture Meeting (July 15)

An online meeting was held with the participation of both the Egyptian and Japanese teams.

Mr. Omar Fatih presented recent progress, including photos and data from the experimental sites, highlighting the impact of salt stress and the status of plant growth and harvest. Dr. Donghe Xu provided feedback, suggesting that future presentations should include analysis and summaries of the data rather than presenting raw figures alone.

The team discussed challenges related to continuous cropping, limited land with comparable salinity, and the need for specific measurements such as sodium and potassium content in leaves.

Dr. Dina Seif reviewed documentation and measurements for soybean and peanut experiments, followed by a discussion on the relevance of certain physiological measurements.

The irrigation method was confirmed to be flood irrigation rather than sprinkler irrigation.

Participants also addressed logistical matters, including the use of harvested crops.
