An online meeting was held with the participation of both the Egyptian and Japanese teams.
Mr. Omar Fatih presented updates on maize and sorghum experiments conducted at two locations with different salinity levels, including measurements of plant height, leaf area, and chlorophyll content.
Dr. Donghe Xu provided feedback, suggesting that priority measurements should focus on sodium and potassium concentrations in leaves rather than analyzing numerous physiological traits, given the large scale of the experiment.
The team also discussed the need for herbicides to control weeds in newly cultivated land.
