An online meeting was held with the participation of both the Egyptian and Japanese sides.
The meeting focused on coordinating NVU farm experiment involving maize and sorghum crops under salinity conditions. The participants discussed assigning two students to monitor the experiment: Mr. Omar Fathy for summer crops (sorghum and maize) and Mr. Mohammed Abdel Rahman for winter crops (wheat and barley). They agreed that students would take weekly photos of the plants using numbered markers and upload them to a cloud platform, with Mr. Mohammed Yunus responsible for documentation. The group also discussed data collection methods and the potential for additional breeding experiments with wheat varieties. Finally, they addressed the need for protective fencing around the field and identified IT expertise at the university that could assist with data management and remote sensing monitoring.
