Five interviews were conducted, covering water management, water user association, aquaculture, dairy production, and facilities built with villagers’ donation.
May 5 – Rashda: Mr. Mahmoud explained Bir3 well cooperative. Government well supply is infrequent, requiring purchase of water from shallow wells.

May 5 – Mushia: Mr. Atef, owner of the experimental farmland, described the cooperative’s history since the 1970s and canal maintenance. Youth engagement in farming is strong, minimizing succession issues.

May 6 – Near Rashda drainage lake: Interview at NIOF fish farm. Drainage water is mixed for aquaculture. At the time, water had been drained post-harvest.

May 6 – Gedida: Visit to cheese factory; discussion of production methods and history. Later observed Bir6 cooperative’s underground canal project.

May 6 – Gedida: Village chief presented examples of community-funded infrastructure, including a school, workshop, and hospital.
