Six focus group meetings were held in target villages, along with a general meeting in Hendaw village addressing salinization issues. The focus groups reviewed progress on problems identified in April.
May 5, 12:00 – Budkhulu (Bir1–3): Joint inspection of deteriorated irrigation canals followed by a discussion on solutions.


May 7, 11:30 – Bir1 Farmers at Mushia: Meeting beside Atef’s farmland. Two NVU graduates participated. First focus group for Bir1.

May 7, 21:30 – Mushia public gathering house: Attended by NVU Dean of Agriculture, deepening dialogue with farmers.


May 8, 17:00 – Bir3 Farmers at Rashda: Meeting at Bir3 with 12 participants. First focus group for Bir3.


May 8, 21:30 – Qalamun, Ain Qada district: Lecture on date palm pest management delivered by agricultural researchers, Dr. Yousef Diab Agricultural Research Center, Mut Station. Participants listened attentively.


May 11, 10:00 – Rashda Local Unit (village office): Meeting attended by the mayor, staffs, and women residents. Dr. Mizoguchi (University of Tokyo) connected via Zoom with Fukushima’s Iitate village. Meeting followed by discussion with the mayor.


May 6, 11:00 –Hendaw Local Unit (village office) : First meeting in Hendaw, a village historically associated with salt extraction and currently facing severe salinization. Village chief and mayor participated.
