Agenda: 2026 plans and Japanese team field missions
- The Egyptian Environmental Land-Use Group plans to continue its work in Kharga and conduct field surveys in Dakhla, focusing on the village of Rashda. Their main activities include analyzing Land Capability Classification and the presence or absence of heavy metals in the soil, as well as conducting an environmental assessment of soil salinization and land use. The field trip is expected to begin after Ramadan.
- The Egyptian Geological Application and Mineral Resources Group aims, if possible, to conduct a field trip in early April to measure groundwater movement and the relationship between groundwater and salinization at both local and regional levels.
- The Japanese team scheduled visits for January 27–29 (hydrology/agriculture surveys), February 4–8 (social surveys), and February 13–15 (hydrology/agriculture surveys).
- The group also discussed revisions to the website and the addition of new members to the hydrology group.
